Overview

Effective Date: June 3, 2026 | Last Updated: August 2, 2026

Data Controller: Billionants Technologies LLP is the data controller for personal data processed through Tuckie.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Tuckie ("App", "we", "us", or "our"). Tuckie is a personal inventory and item management app that helps you track the items you own — across your home, storage, or anywhere else.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use Tuckie, and describes the rights you have over your data.

By downloading or using Tuckie, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and optionally a display name.
Profile Data: Optional profile photo or avatar you choose to set.
Inventory Data: Item names, descriptions, categories, tags, photos, and any other details you add to your inventory.
Item Storage Locations: Text labels you provide to describe *where you have stored or placed an item* (e.g., "Top shelf in study", "Kitchen cupboard"). This is entirely user-defined text — Tuckie does not collect your device's physical or GPS location.
Subscription & Transaction Data: Purchase timestamps, subscription status, and entitlement information processed by Google Play and shared with RevenueCat for subscription management.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device Information: Device type and operating system version.
Usage & Analytics Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App (such as button taps, screens visited, feature usage frequency, search metrics, and app latency), tied to a pseudonymous user identifier. This data is collected through third-party analytics services (specifically PostHog) to help us diagnose bugs, optimize performance, and improve the user experience. You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time directly within the App by navigating to Profile → Opt Out.

2.3 Device Permissions

Tuckie requests only the permissions necessary to provide its core features. Here is a precise breakdown:

PermissionWhen & Why It Is Used
CameraRequested only when you choose to photograph an item you are logging. Never used in the background.
MicrophoneRequested only when you use the voice input feature to dictate where you are storing an item. Never used outside of this explicit action.
Storage / PhotosRequired on some devices to save or retrieve item photos from your device gallery.

We do not request or use the following permissions:

❌ Device GPS or physical location
❌ Contacts or address book
❌ Phone state, call logs, or SMS
❌ Background location tracking of any kind
"Location" in the context of Tuckie always means a user-defined text label describing where an item is stored — it is never your device's physical coordinates.

2.4 Advertising Data & Identifiers (Free Tier)

For users on our Free Tier, Tuckie displays advertisements provided by third-party ad networks, primarily Google AdMob.

Ad Data Collected: Third-party ad partners may automatically collect device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID or IDFA), IP address, general network connection data, and ad interaction metrics (e.g. ad impressions, clicks, rewarded ad completions).
Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads: Depending on your device settings and local privacy laws, ads served may be non-personalized or contextual. You can manage or reset your advertising identifier directly within your mobile device settings.
Pro Tier Exemption: If you upgrade to Tuckie Pro, in-app advertisements are completely disabled and no advertising data or ad identifiers are processed.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To send service-related notifications (e.g., account alerts, subscription status, and trial ending reminders)Contractual necessity
To deliver in-app advertisements and verify rewarded ad completions for free tier usersLegitimate interest / Consent (where required)

We will never sell your personal inventory data to data brokers or third parties. We display in-app advertisements via Google AdMob to support our free tier, and ad partners process pseudonymous device and ad interaction data as described in Section 2.4 and Section 9.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where We Store Your Data

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers operated by Supabase (supabase.com), hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the US East (N. Virginia) region (us-east-1, United States). If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, your personal data is transferred to and processed on servers in the United States. This transfer is lawful under applicable data protection laws. Supabase maintains Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in their Data Processing Addendum, available at supabase.com/legal/dpa. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

4.2 Security Measures

Authentication: Tuckie uses Google Sign-In for authentication. We do not store or manage passwords. Your credentials are handled entirely by Google and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Isolation: Your inventory is strictly isolated from other users' data at the database level. No other user can access, read, or modify your items.
Encryption in Transit: All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Data is never sent over unencrypted connections.
Encryption at Rest: All data is encrypted at rest on our cloud infrastructure.
Inventory Content: Your inventory data (item names, descriptions, storage locations, photos) is stored in readable form so the app can display, search, and sync it. Tuckie does not offer end-to-end encrypted storage. Item photos are accessible via a unique URL and served through a content delivery network. We recommend not photographing sensitive documents.
Access Controls: Access to production systems is strictly limited to authorised personnel and only when operationally necessary.

4.3 Data Retention

When you delete your account from within the app, all your stored data, including personal data and inventory, is immediately deleted from our active database. Some data may persist in secure, encrypted database backups for up to 30 days before being permanently overwritten as part of our automated backup rotation cycles.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We use third-party services (e.g., Supabase for backend infrastructure) that process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("Right to be Forgotten"). You can also delete your account directly within the app via Settings → Delete Account.
Objection: Object to certain processing of your data for legitimate interest purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address in Section 11.

6.1 California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we have collected and shared in the past 12 months. To make such a request, contact us at the email in Section 11.

6.2 EU/EEA Residents

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights or to submit a query regarding our data processing, you may contact our privacy coordinator directly at the email listed in Section 11. We will respond to and process all such requests within the statutory 30-day window free of charge.

7. Children's Privacy

Tuckie is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 where applicable under GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

8. AI Features and Data Usage

Tuckie uses artificial intelligence (AI) services provided by Google (such as Gemini and Vertex AI) to power features like search and the item logging flow.

Data Sent to AI Providers: To enable these features, some of your inventory data (such as item names, descriptions, storage locations, photos, or voice descriptions) may be processed by these AI services to generate embeddings, search results, or structured item details.
No Training on Your Data: In accordance with our providers' enterprise terms, your personal data and inventory content are never used to train their foundational AI models.
Data Retention by AI Providers: Data processed by our AI providers is not retained by them beyond what is necessary to fulfill the immediate request.
AI as Core Functionality: Because AI processing is integral to Tuckie's core features (including search and the item logging flow), we do not offer an option to opt out of AI processing while maintaining an active account. If you do not want your data processed by these AI services, you must delete your account via the settings in the App (which will permanently delete all your data).
